Mason & Hamlin is one of America's oldest and most-respected piano manufacturers. While hundreds of American piano companies came and went during the 19th and 20th centuries, Mason & Hamlin is one of only a handful that remain. Mason & Hamlin pianos feature an unusually big, full-bodied sound featuring a brilliant, bell-like treble and a resonant, deep bass.
Endorsed by the Greats
Some of the world's foremost pianists have endorsed Mason & Hamlin pianos over the years, including Sergei Rachmaninoff, Harold Bauer, Maurice, Ravel, and others. Maurice Ravel chose to play exclusively on Mason & Hamlins during his first American tour. Of them he said: "While preserving all the qualities of the percussion instrument, the Mason & Hamlin pianoforte also serves magnificently the composer's concept by its extensive range in dynamics, as well as quality of tone. It is not short of being a small orchestra. In my opinion, the Mason & Hamlin is a real work of art."
Hand-Crafted Pianos Reputed for Outstanding Attention to Detail
Mason & Hamlin pianos are hand-crafted in a six-floor factory by technicians with a reputation for attention to detail. Mason & Hamlin consistently chooses quality over quantity, producing only 50 uprights and 300 grand pianos per year. Each piano is thoroughly tested and inspected at least 12 times before it leaves the factory.
